*Royal Races* Payout *Pinball Machine* Trade Stimulator Royal races payout pinball machine trade stimulator. Click to view image album. This machine was more than just a pinball machine, but was actually a 1-ball pay-out trade stimulator. With the invention of the electric bumper several 1930s one-ball gambling machines were invented. (pamco) issued this royal races machine in 1937. There were no flippers, just one ball bouncing from one electric bumper to the next, adding to the score, until it dropped down the middle. There is no tilt in these machines and i suspect there was a lot of shaking and bumping as the ball traveled down. At the back of the machine the score would tally with revolving lights behind a colorful glass panel. If you registered a high score, a payout would drop into a small hidden draw at the bottom. The small back on this 1937 is a very early example of what typical pinball machines have from much later dates. Until just recently this rare pay-out trade stimulator was hidden away is a local garage.

It was last used during the 1940s at a small rhode island restaurant called alberts. In one close-up photograph you can see the last indian head nickle that was played. I cannot get into the coin box and who knows what rare nickels are still there.

As you look at all the close-up photographs you will see some wear to the original art deco painted design on the 20 by 24 by 49 inch case. The race horse gameboard is in near perfect condition with no wear to the painted surface. Including the small upright glass back this machine is 41 â½ tall. I have photographed the inside back of this part of the machine, but i do not have the key to look inside the bottom section. I do however guarantee 100% that this inside of this machine is complete with no missing parts.
In the close-up photographs of the plunger you can see the mount, which holds it to the case, is broken. All the other parts and piece of the machine are complete. After some searching the last owner of the machine found the original wood legs, but could not find the bolts. Some ebayer will win this rare pamco royal races, payout pinball machine because there is no reserve. There also is a rare 1935 capehart orchestrope m1w coin-op jukebox all from the same 1930s rhode island restaurant, and all listed without a reserve.

I live rhode island and travel between southern new hampshire and eastern maryland almost every week. Please contact me for my scheduled route down route 95 from southern new hampshire, massachusetts, rhode island, connecticut, southern new york, new jersey (new jersey turnpike) into northern delaware and down the eastern side of maryland. Because of the size this pinball machine will be sent out to be professionally packed.
