Offered here is a rare bally heavy hitter pitch n bat baseball pinball. This machine is “as found”, it looks to be complete and all original. It comes with original matching metal stand that is rarely found with the machine. It has the original backdoor with factory label attached, original front door and coin box. I plugged it it, it does not light up or do anything. The backglass has some peeling, please see pictures. Some of the wires have been taped up but overall this looks like it will be a nice restoration project. Once restored, this machine is for one player. Small pitch and bat, 32.5″ long by 15″ wide by 55 tall with the floor stand. Despite its small size (15″ x 27″ footprint) it should fun because of its very fast play. The pitched ball is done automatically and quickly by the game, not by a player pressing a button to pitch (unlike the later 1950’s williams pitch and bats). There should be two reostats inside the game to adjust the pitching power and bat power. Heavy hitter also has an vertical running man unit in the backbox. As designed, a 5/8 steel ball moves from base to base as a hit is generated. When a ball moves from third base to home, the ball closes a switch, which generates a run on the lighted score backglass. The single 5/8 ball on the playfield goes into the hole scoring playfield registering the hit or an out. The game does not allow for multiple innings; three outs and the game is over. This used a mechanism to pitch the ball out from underneath the playfield, using a. 008 thick spring steel flap to hide the playfield ball slot when the ball was on top of the playfield. Overall, a rare machine, it should be an excellent candidate for restoration. The machine is located in rockland county, ny.The item “1947 BALLY HEAVY HITTER BASEBALL PINBALL COIN OP ARCADE MACHINE AS FOUND W STAND” is in sale since Friday, March 20, 2015.
