The clearcoat is more durable than the standard factory finish and much smoother. The significance of the time since it has been cleared is the playfield is fully cured and hard. You don’t have to wait to install this in your game. The back edge does have a small nick in it as shown in the pictures. This is covered by the stiffening rails when installed in the game.
