Pinball Machines

 In 1977 this machine is one of only 170 made this way (em). After the first 170 rolled off of the line bally started making these in solid state. It was the year that changed pinball’s future. This machine coins up and plays but is in unrestored original condition.

The playfield is in need of restoration and the backglass has had someone try to touch it up. With the rarity of this machine i will leave the technical stuff and restoration to a pro or the person whom intends to keep it. The glass was in really good shape, it appears they tried to dab paint where there was only the slightest chip or scratch in the paint. The cabinet and legs are nice.

The original coin box is still in it. The nice thing is that overall there were 16,000 mata hari’s made which provides lots of spares parts that will work with this machine.

Over 16,000 solid state mata hari’s were made by bally in 1978, but only 170 of this rare em were made, and many are no longer in existence. This is certainly one of the most desirable em crossover titles ever made. This game has been in a home setting since 1979.

Game plays 100%, all switches, targets, bumpers, score reels, drop targets , etc…. Playfield has been cleaned, and rerubbered, and wax for protection.

All bulbs have also been replaced, plastics waxed, new leg levelers, and leg bolts installed. Backglass is in near perfect shape, please see pics for condition. Playfeild is in above average shape, with some minamal wear, please see pics for condition.

I’m not to familiar with these machines, but with a little research it looks to be an em model which i’m told is very rare. The machine has been sitting in my garage for 20 years, the kids and i had a lot of fun playing the game, but it’s been years since we touched it.
I turned it back on and there seems to bee a short in it somewhere, i’m sure it’s an easy fix. Definitely has some issues such as nails in the headboard, chips in the wood, and a couple of bumpers missing but all and all everything is original. Added more photos which will show some wear and scratches to the sides and face and where the side of the headboard had been nailed together but all in all in good shape for a machine this old.

This is my first pin so obviously I am biased. But, it’s a great game to have in my 2-pin setup. Mata Hari nicely compliments the electronic noise maker that is Gorgar. When both pins are being played it is a true battle classic chimes ringing out versus electronic explosions and a scary portending of things to come (aka video games). Playfield was just cleaned, all new rubber bumpers added, all burnt out bulbs replaced, and new pinball added. Backglass is super nice with only very minor flaws. Cabinet looks really nice as seen in pictures. This is really a very nice pinball all around. I don’t know what else to say about this great pinball machine. This is a great machine to add to any gameroom and an all time classic. If you have been looking for one of these machines then don’t pass this one by. You can’t go wrong with this great coin op item. I have bowlers, jukeboxes, video arcades, and other pinballs as well. Be sure to watch for some other upcoming pinballs i have including quick draw, count down, hot tip, dragon, lizard, strato-flite, party animal, rock makers, getaway and some other great classics. Machine was just gone through and is working 100%. Playfield is in very nice condition with little to no wear visible. The cabinet looks very nice as you can see in pictures. Backglass has a small crack on left side in purple area which should be visible in pictures. This crack is small and is not an eye sore. The rest of the glass looks pretty much mint.
