This DMD Anti-Glare Filter provides easily the most discreet way of eliminating the distracting reflections that occur from a Pinball Dot Matrix Display (DMD) onto the playfield glass. Fitted in just a few minutes and requiring no permanent changes to the pinball machine, the filter is simply attached using the Bostik clear adhesive removable pads provided to the front of the DMD once removed, and then reinstalled behind the speaker / display assembly. Once installed, the filter is completely invisible, tamper proof as it sits between the DMD and the display assembly and makes no changes to the outward appearance of the machine whatsoever, other than almost completely blocking that annoying reflection on the glass. The filter can be removed just as easily and quickly should you decide to move it from machine to machine. The 3M designed micro-louvre technology is used extensively for existing privacy applications including Laptops, Smartphones, Cash Machines, Airplane in-flight entertainment screens etc. Where the view of the user is clear but to either side, the screen is dark and indecipherable. This DMD Anti-Glare Filter is made using this same technology but the orientation of the filter louvres are vertical rather than horizontal which prevents the DMD reflecting fully onto the playfield glass whilst maintaining the usual clear view of the DMD, not just to the player but also to anyone watching from either side. The filter also prevents light sources from elsewhere within the room reflecting onto the DMD which can make it appear clearer with only a very minimal reduction in brightness. In my opinion, this product is much more aesthetically pleasing than the formed metal glare guards that protrude from under the DMD as its invisible when fitted and it’s much more cost effective than the expensive playfield anti-glare glass option. The DMD Anti-Glare filter is provided in a standard size of 350 mm wide and 110 mm high to completely cover the DMD although the filter material can easily be trimmed if required.
