Up for sale is an original 1963 Race-Way pinball machine made by Midway. Race-Way starts up and plays, with the playfield features working (targets, kickouts, etc). The score reels reset, and the scoring appears to function as it should. The right flipper is sticky; the flippers could use a rebuild most likely. A previous owner added a physical switch to the top of the upper cabinet to add credits (please see the pictures). This could be removed and the hole filled, if the future owner chooses to do so. The backglass animation does work, but the wheels on the cars to do not seem to roll freely - the cars appear to slide along the track instead of rolling. I assume the axles on the cars need to be cleaned/degreased and then lubricated, but I have not attempted this maintenance. The playfield is in good shape considering the age, with a few wear spots here and there. The playfield has not been cleaned or shopped, so with new rubbers and a little work it could be improved significantly. The cabinet paint is flaking; although the patina may not bother some who prefer the original artwork, others may prefer to repaint the cabinet and make the game look immaculate. The wood of the cabinet is in good shape and seems free of any water damage or other major issues. The backdoor to the upper cabinet is particle board and not as solid as the rest of the cabinet, but is functional and not noticeable from the front. The original backglass is flaking in areas; the game includes a reproduction backglass not yet installed (silkscreened on plexiglass). More pictures are available upon request. Arcade machine project lot. I’ve also removed phoenix and jambo safari from this lot as i got them working again and will keep them. This lot includes the following. Pac - the screen has been replaced with a new screen in past few years. The game powers up but the video is scrambled as seen in the pictures. The cabinet is original but shows its age. Some minor board work or possibly just reseating the roms will get it running again. Golden Tee- the game powers up and plays fine in the background with no video. I presume monitor has fuse or is just done. Afterburner- game powers up and works fine, but someone was too rough on the pistol handle. Its there and needs a few screws and little parts to get it running. Side art has peeled off and isnt in great shape, but its included with game. Screen shot if game playing in pictures. Hang On- somebody hung off the handlebars and pulled it loose. I took it off the machine, and all wiring is intact, just presently unclipped. The game powers up and is now scrambled. Was not scrambled last time I turned it on. Feel free to contact me with any questions, im just into it as a hobby and have no professional experience. Please note: Sometimes it starts and plays and sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t know why. I’ve had this for sale for a while and all I’ve got so far is a bunch of tire-kickers, so I might part it out if there’s enough interest. New drop target stickers and pop bumper caps were put on. All the lights (not just the burnt ones) were replaced with #47 bulbs. New leg levelers and all rubber rings replaced. The plastics look great, the left slingshot plastic is cracked but glued back together so good you can hardly tell. The cabinet is solid and sturdy but looks like long ago some idiot scratched initials on one side, and has other scraps here and there. The backglass is the original and in good condition with very small flakes here and there. The playfield is in great condition and looks like it has an early installed mylar, very few tiny flakes where it doesn’t cover. The MPU, driver board, and sound board have been tested and repaired by Circuit Board Specialties just 2 months ago. The bad stuff is: The kickout hole is weak and sometimes it kicks a few times to get the ball out. The drop target in the very front is a little sluggish to drop. The left slingshot and the pop bumper on the far left hit strong but don’t score or make sound. The display that does the credits and ball in play sometimes goes dim, I wiggled that connector and it came back on so might just need cleaning or something. PLEASE NOTE: I will do a partial trade for a 1977 Williams “RANCHO” pinball machine. I don’t like solid states, I’m an EM nut.
